Tulpie Terminals
Tulpie also rents out terminals, which are all-in-one devices with a built-in receipt printer.
Renting a terminal
Terminals are rented, so you give them back after your market. If you would like to use them at your market, contact us through your market's support channels and we will work out the details with you:
- Cost: The rental cost is negotiated with each market.
- Deposit: A deposit is required.
- Delivery and pickup: We will arrange these for you.
Using a terminal
Terminals run a similar app that is made specifically for them. It looks the same, so logging a sale works in the same way. The differences are explained below.
Setting up
Terminals do not need to be paired. We assign the terminal to your market and it signs itself in when you turn it on.
If the terminal shows one of these messages, it can't be used yet:
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| This terminal is awaiting approval. | We still need to approve this terminal. |
| This terminal is not assigned to a market. | We still need to assign this terminal to your market. |
| Unable to sign in this terminal. Check the connection and try again. | Check the internet connection, and tap on "Retry". |
Contact us through your market's support channels if you see one of the first two messages and your market is ready to go.
Printing receipts
What gets printed is up to your market's admins, using the terminal settings. You can see the current settings under the gear icon, but only an admin can change them.
After a sale is saved:
- If one copy is turned on, it prints right away.
- If both copies are on, you are asked about the customer copy first, then the market copy. Tap on "Print" or "Skip" for each one, and tear off the first receipt before the next one prints.
- If no copies are on, nothing prints.
Receipts show the market's name, the items with their vendor IDs and prices, the total, the payment method, and the ID of the transaction.
Reprinting a receipt
If your admin has turned on "Allow reprinting", tap on a sale under "Previous Transactions" on the main screen, choose the copy you need, and tap "Close" when you are done.
Checking the printer
Under the gear icon, tap on "Test print" to print a sample receipt.
