Logging a Sale
Tap on "New Transaction" to get started. You will see the running total at the top of the screen, the list of items below it, and three round buttons on the bottom right to add items.
Adding items
From top to bottom, the three buttons are:
| Button | Used for |
|---|---|
| Box with a plus | Picking a product from a list. Handy if a label is damaged or missing. |
| QR code | Scanning a label. This is what you will use most of the time. |
| Pencil | Typing in the details by hand. |
Scanning a label
Tap on the QR code button and point the camera at the label. The item is added and you go back to the list, so tap the button again for each item. If it is dark, use the flash icon on the top right to turn on the light.
If the label has no price on it, you will be asked to type in the price, along with anything else that is missing.
Picking from a list
Tap on the vendor, tap on the product, set the quantity with the plus and minus buttons, and then tap on "Add". The app remembers your vendor for the next item. To choose a different vendor, tap on the vendor at the top of the screen.
Typing in the details
If nothing else works, you can enter the vendor ID, description, and price yourself. The vendor ID is printed on the label. "OK" will only work if all the fields are filled in. Use a dot for cents, like 49.50, not a comma.
The vendor ID is not checked here, so double check it. If you enter one that does not exist, an admin will need to fix the sale afterwards.
Changing items
The same items are grouped together, showing the total for that item and how many there are.
- Tap on an item to see its vendor ID and to change the quantity with the plus and minus buttons.
- Tap on the trash icon to remove the item completely.
Completing the sale
- Take the customer's payment. Remember, Tulpie does not do this for you.
- Tap on "Paid".
- Choose how the customer paid. If you made a mistake, tap outside of the list to go back to the sale.
A green tick means that the sale has been saved. A red cross means that it was not saved, you will go back to the sale with all of your items, so check your connection and tap on "Paid" again.
If the connection drops while a sale is saving, keep the app open until you see the tick or the cross.
A completed sale cannot be changed or cancelled from the app, so check the items before you tap on "Paid". If you made a mistake, let a Tulpie admin know through your market's support channels.
